Meditation: Breaking a Habit

I used to think I was controlled by my negative emotions. It’s human nature to get swept up in our feelings, but by focusing our attention inward we can observe our problematic thoughts and learn what triggers them.

 

Our habits, both good and bad, become ingrained in our brains through repetition. So how can we rewire our way of thinking? The first step in changing our minds is recognition.

 

In this meditation, I will help you break the habits holding you back. This requires observing yourself without judgement. Meditating will allow you to tap into a deeper level of awareness, and identify the issues you need to face.

 

Lastly, I’d like to leave you with this–remember, we have a choice in where we choose to focus our attention. While you’re doing this meditation, I encourage all of you to think about what you want to change and envision the person you want to become. Don’t worry about the how, simply allow the universe to present the possibilities to you—the rest will fall into place.
