Having a visual reminder of love and support is an easy and simple way to curb stress and anxiety.  —Rose Caiola

Mental exercises help build new brain cells and strengthen the connections between them, which is why I find it beneficial to challenge the brain with new activities every week. This week’s mental workout is about creating visuals that bring peace and serenity in a moments notice.

What To Do

Put together a set of photographs that show you receiving love and support. They might be images of you getting a hug, sharing a kiss, or even just hanging out with someone special. Arrange the photos on a bulletin board where you can see them every day. You can also create a smaller version to carry in your wallet or purse.

Why To Do It

We are constantly being told that we should avoid negative thoughts, a negative mindset and negative feelings at all costs. For what we think, we create in our lives. Sometimes we use positive thinking as a Band-Aid instead of really going within to feel uncomfortable emotions and do the healing required to transcend through pain and limiting beliefs.

The ultimate goal is not to just think positive thoughts in order to have mental balance. We must develop a strong mind through meditation to give the positive of the negative and the negative of the positive. By our own grace and consciousness, we can find the neutral of it. It’s through the neutral and intuitive mind we can confidently make decisions and thus create peace of mind.
