Exercise outside for maximum cleansing

When most people think of detoxing their body, they think of certain herbs or foot baths – different things they can do to detox or some sort of treatment. But in truth, two of the best ways to detox, hardly anyone realizes.

2 natural detoxing techniques

1. Get more sunshine

The number one way to detox your body is by getting more sunshine. Vitamin D3, known as the sunshine vitamin, actually kills off bad bacteria. Recent studies found that if you are getting just 20 minutes of sunshine a day, your body starts producing over 200 antimicrobials, killing off bad bacteria, funguses, viruses and parasites throughout your body. Research is even showing that vitamin D can help fight and kill off cancer cells.

So every single day, get outside and aim for 20 to 30 minutes, at least, of sunshine if you can. Even if you’re a doctor working in a clinic, a businessperson, a school teacher, and you’re inside most the day, during your lunch hour sit outside for 20 minutes of it or go on a short walk during the day – for example, two 10-minute walks outside. You’re getting more vitamin D.

Plus, more sunlight means less chance of developing vitamin D deficiency symptoms, which are linked to:

  • Osteoporosis
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • Cancer
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Arthritis
  • Diabetes
  • Asthma
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Chronic pain
  • Psoriasis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Autism

It’s often said that the sun causes cancer, but the sun doesn’t cause cancer. There are people in Middle Eastern countries and Africa who get way more sunshine than we do and they don’t exhibit skin cancer symptoms. One of the biggest reasons we have more skin cancer in the United States than anywhere else is the chemicals we put on our skin – from makeup to different type of moisturizers, even the sunscreens.

Many of the sunscreens today have toxic chemicals that block vitamin D, and they can actually cause you to get sick. Plus, sunscreen does not protect against cancer. So if you want to get sun, put on a covering if you’re concerned about getting burnt; another option would be to go ahead and use a natural sunscreen that contains zinc oxide, not the fake stuff. Or you can try this Homemade Sunscreen as a safe alternative.

2. Get more exercise

The number two way to detox your body is through exercise. We typically don’t think of exercise as a form of detoxification, but when you exercise, your lymphatic system starts to drain, getting rid of all the toxins from your system. Your body is sweating getting rid of chlorine, detoxing fluoride from your body and eliminating other chemicals absorbed in your body.

Another thing that you’ll find is that when you go out for a run or simply out in the sun in nature, you start sweating. You’ll start to notice that when your body’s starting to sweat, it will actually help your body detox in a faster manner. So again, the sun actually can help leach toxins out your skin.

Exercising, while getting out in the sun, is one of your best forms of detoxification. You kill two birds with one stone if you can get outside and exercise for 20 to 30 minutes a day, whether it’s going for a run – even barefoot running to get earthing health benefits – doing your burst training outside, or simply getting your weights and dumbbells to get the muscles going. Whatever it is, if you can work outside for 20 to 30 minutes, you are detoxing double-time; it’s a great option.

So this week, here are your action steps:

  • Get outside
  • Absorb 20 minutes of sun a day to get your vitamin D3
  • Start exercising daily
  • If you want to get double-time detox, exercise outside
