Have Red Hair? Ouch!

A study in the Journal of the American Dental Association reported that redheads had greater pain sensitivity and required more anesthesia for dental procedures than non-redheads. This may be due to a mutation in a gene that makes hair red that is in the same gene family as pain receptors.
