We all know the story of the underdog colonists who rose up in solidarity to sign the Declaration of Independence from a foreign power. Their act was not just about who would rule the 13 colonies. Our Continental Congress wanted to create a new society, one in which we had the right to pursue happiness and personal freedoms—something that was unheard of in 1776.
Today I’m going to reflect on the freedoms we have as Americans, and I encourage you to do the same. Let’s enjoy the fireworks, parades, concerts and picnics, and spend time with family and friends.
Let freedom ring!
What do you enjoy about the 4th of July?
