“Meditation stills the mind from its daily chatter and teaches us how to be in the moment. It allows us opportunities to breathe and to see our lives with our eyes open, in a calm, peaceful way.”

5 health benefits of meditation

Are you paying attention to what your body and mind are trying to tell you? Many of us ignore our intuition, and as time passes, we become sick, tired or find ourselves unhappy. We feel weighed down by the day-to-day stressors, and our energy points (chakras) become stagnant

A chakra is a wheel of energy which continuously rotates. The chakras begin at the base of the spine and finish at the top of the head. The state of each chakra wheel varies with individual development, physical condition, energy level, disease or stress.

Here is a list of the 7 chakras, where they are located and the color associated with each:

  1. Root – base of spine (red)
  2. Sacral – below the naval (orange)
  3. Solar Plexus – above navel (yellow)
  4. Heart – center of chest (green)
  5. Throat – throat (blue)
  6. Third eye – between the eyes, forehead (indigo)
  7. Crown – top of head (violet)

Are your chakra centers aligned?

According to the laws of quantum theory, everything in the universe is fundamentally made of pure energy – energy that is always moving and vibrating at different speeds. As humans, we all have a unique vibrational frequency. Perhaps you’ve never thought about your vibrational frequency, but it influences your life in every way.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed, this indicates your chakra centers are not in alignment.

Finding balance through meditation

While we can’t do much to eliminate the stress in our lives, we can make lifestyle changes to bring us back into balance. One of the most effective ways to do this is through meditation.

Meditating relaxes both your mind and body, and helps connect you to the present moment. All you have to do is close your eyes and give yourself permission to pause for a short period of time. It’s such a simple gift you can give yourself, and the health benefits are worth it.
